Becoming a member of your PTA is simple and easy. Membership is open to any Rice staff member, parent, guardian or community member for a fee of $8.00. Membership does not obligate you to attend meetings or events, though we do hope to see you there!
Why is the PTA important? Due to budget constraints, many of the "extras" that children once enjoyed in school are being eliminated. The PTA hopes to bridge that financial gap and provide the events and activities that enhance every student's education.

- Attend PTA Meetings: Meetings are held monthly. The school principal and staff members are usually in attendance. Child care is provided for most meetings.
- Chair or join a committee: Choose an event or program you would like to be a part of. You can lead the effort as the event chair or be involved as a committee member.
- Be a room parent: Attend your child's class parties and field trips as a Room Parent. You must be a paid PTA member to be eligible to be a Room Parent. Room Parent applications are found in the PTA Handbook distributed at the beginning of the year.
- Give your time: Whether it's an hour or a day, your time is precious to the PTA. We have volunteer opportunities to match your schedule - including events during school hours, at night or even from home!
